Y11 Prom

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you to inform you that the Year 11 Prom has been cancelled. Sadly the government’s announcement yesterday regarding the postponement of the 21st June easing of restrictions means the event cannot go ahead. Whilst we all knew this was a possibility, it doesn’t make it any easier. We are really disappointed to not be able to host the prom you deserve but hope you understand that this is something outside of our control. As promised, all students will be given a full refund for their prom ticket. Refunds will start to be issued in the coming days. However after everything our Year 11 students have been through over the past year, we believe you deserve to have some way to mark the end of Year 11 and celebrate all you have achieved over the past five years. Therefore we would like to invite you to a short celebration in-school on Friday 25th June at 17:00. It will also be an opportunity for those who are leaving us to say goodbye to their peers and their teachers. We will be providing some light food and refreshments. The event will be outdoor and in line with government guidelines. We will expect all students to have a Lateral Flow Test prior to arrival and to bring a face mask with them. If students need more Lateral Flow Tests then please come to collect them from Reception. We expect the event to be finished by 19:00. Students are not expected to come in uniform but we would ask that you dress smart/casual. It will not be a formal occasion like prom but we’d encourage you to dress smartly. Read the full letter here
